Mavericks Festival Quick Facts

THE FESTIVAL

The inaugural Mavericks Festival is here to kick off the winter surf season with a free celebration for the community on October 1st, 2022 at Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay. Featuring three live bands, a large screen on stage showcasing Mavericks surf videos; a Mavericks Surf Zone displaying big wave surfboards, a Mavericks Photo Zone highlighting some amazing shots of Mavericks, and an Education Zone featuring the US Coast Guard command center that attendees can walk through. Mavericks Festival merchandise, local food, craft beer, wine and cocktails will be for sale at the festival and 10% of the net proceeds donated to Sea Hugger Foundation, an environmental organization that helps keep our ocean clean.

The Mavericks Festival is free to the public and all ages are welcome.

THE DETAILS

What type of food will be served?
Pacific Catch will be selling fish tacos made with local fish from Legasea Fish Co, the Sams Chowder mobile will be on site with lobster rolls, clam chowder and more, the HMBHS Girls Volleyball team will be selling tamales, Alebrijes Kitchen will be serving delicious burritos, tortas and other delicious Oaxacan specialties, Curveball Sliders will have 4 choices of sliders to go with french fries, and Fish Wife Sweets will be selling a tasty selection of desserts

What type of drinks will be served?
A variety of beverages will be available for purchase. Cocktails made from Bacardi brand liquors, local craft beer from HMB Brewing Company, Blue Ocean Brewery, and HopDogma will be on tap, refreshing hard seltzer from Maui Brewing Company, hard kombucha from June Shine will be available, and HMB Winery will be offering both red and white wine as well. In addition, Good Day Brewing will have their non-alcoholic beer available, and Guayaki will have bottles of Yerba Mate.

In addition, in following our non-profit partner SeaHugger, we will not be serving single use plastic bottles of water. Instead, water bottle refilling stations will be available (one near the stage, one by the Education Zone), so bring your reusable bottles to the festival. No outside alcohol is permitted at the event.

What forms of payment will be accepted?
We accept cash, credit cards, and Venmo.

Are pets allowed?
Pets are not allowed at the festival. For the safety of your pets and festival attendees, please leave your pets at home. Large crowds, warm weather, food preparation and other sensory activities make it a stressful and dangerous environment for pets.

What transportation options are available?
With the popularity of Mavericks, three live concerts, engaging attractions and nice weather expected, attendees should expect parking to be very limited. Locals are encouraged to walk, rideshare, bike or take the bus. We have added extra bike racks at the south end of the parking lot next to the Education Zone. Paid parking is available at Oceano Hotel for $10 and is on a first come first serve basis.
