The Surf Zone area gives attendees an up-close opportunity to meet the surfers, surfboard makers, photographers and rescue teams that help make Mavericks one of the most amazing big wave surf spots in the world
CLARK SURFBOARDS
One of the most noteworthy big-wave surfers, famous for surfing Mavericks alone for 15 years before it was widely discovered by the big-wave surfing community, Jeff Clark is considered the “Godfather of Mavericks” and has been shaping big wave “guns” for over 40 years, and his boards are used by the top big wave surfers around the world.
MAVERICKS RESCUE
The Mavericks Rescue Team is a group of volunteers who raise money to service their jet skis, upgrade first aid equipment, and educate the public about safety at Mavericks and big wave surfing. When Mavericks is breaking, the Rescue team is the frontline for saving surfers from the treacherous rocks and current that makes Mavericks famously dangerous.
